Lambda's charter was installed at Wayne State University College of Nursing on June 12, 1953.  It is the tenth oldest of more than 490 Sigma Theta Tau chapters and the oldest chapter in the State of Michigan.  Founded in 1922 by six nurses at the Indiana University Training School, Sigma Theta Tau is the official Honor Society of Nursing and is now an international organization with the mission of advancing world health and celebrating nursing excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service.  This site provides you with an even greater ability to network with chapter members, upload photos, share documents, participate in chapter discussions and learn about chapter events.

Lambda's 2018 Fall Induction

Lambda welcomed 34 new members during their 2018 Fall Induction.  Welcoming remarks were delivered by Belinda Aberle, Chapter Liaison, followed by the induction address delivered by Wayne State University College of Nursing Dean Dr. Laurie Clabo.  Sigma Theta Tau is the second largest nursing organization in the world with over 135,000 members. Membership is by invitation to baccalaureate and graduate nursing students, who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, and to nurse leaders exhibiting exceptional achievements in nursing. The Lambda Chapter is one of the oldest chapters with Sigma Theta Tau. Welcome new Sigma Theta Tau Lambda Chapter members!
