Lambda's charter was installed at Wayne State University College of Nursing on June 12, 1953.  It is the tenth oldest of more than 490 Sigma Theta Tau chapters and the oldest chapter in the State of Michigan.  Founded in 1922 by six nurses at the Indiana University Training School, Sigma Theta Tau is the official Honor Society of Nursing and is now an international organization with the mission of advancing world health and celebrating nursing excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service.  This site provides you with an even greater ability to network with chapter members, upload photos, share documents, participate in chapter discussions and learn about chapter events.

Lambda's 2017 Annual Dinner

The Lambda Chapter annual dinner meeting was held May 24, 2017 at the beautiful Detroit Institute of Arts.  Members and guest enjoyed cocktail hour and networking.  Gail Griffin, MSN, STT Lambda Chapter President provided the State of the Chapter address.  Lambda should be very proud of meeting and embracing scholarship, leadership and collaboration.  The chapter is looking forward to preparing for our 65th anniversary celebration next year and partnering with other WSU organizations. After dinner Dr.  April Hazard Vallerand, PhD, RN, FAAN, Associate Dean for Research and Director of the PhD program, College of Nursing Alumni Endowed Professor, Wayne State University College of Nursing, presented findings from her latest study entitled Developing Interventions to Improve Function in African Americans.

    ANNUAL REPORT
    Our 2016-2017 Chapter Annual Report is in progress and submission is due August 2, 2017 to STTI-Corporate office. Submission on time will make our chapter eligible for the 2017-2019 Chapter Key Awards.
